FC Victoria

FC VICTORIA

FC VICTORIA is the soccer team of the Victoria Sports Association (VSA), affiliated to the Kenyan Football Federation (FKF) and committed to develop youth soccer beginning with the grass roots.

Our experience has shown us that a strong club structure, consistent developmental philosophy and integrated learning environment will substantially increase a player’s development. In preparing players, we have set forth a structure (camps, team training, club training, specialty training, private lessons, etc.) that we feel best captures those elements and provides incentives for players at all levels.

Ultimately our desire is to assist players in their development (technical, tactical, physical and mental) in a fun but challenging environment.

VICTORIA QUEENS is VSA’s team of young and talented girls! They have joined VSA to participate in our social development activities and to enjoy their passion for football.

Our program is designed to prepare players for the challenges at the next level, whether that may be within the VSA structure or a top soccer program: skill work, moves, ball control – creating space to attack – understanding the attacking objectives – marking and closing players – defense – role of 1st, 2nd and 3rd – communication and visualization – tackling – preparation, decision and types – shooting on goal – personal and team possession – dribbling – shielding & taking players on – receiving and passing quickly – team tactics.

Players

Over the years, VSA has developed a reputation for developing competitive and recognized players, and has managed to nurture 70 football players who participate in 2nd and 1st Division of Kenya and Provincial League organized by FKF, for example: Rodgers Odhiambo (Oyugis Football Club, on loan 2010 to 2012), Alex Maina (Pako Football Club, on loan 2009), Tyson Mugendi (Pako Football Club on loan 2008), Washington Omugah (Re-Union FC 2012 – 2013), Geoffrey Ambasi (KCB FC 2012 -2013).
